Day 1

Kashmir - Leh via Zanskar

Kargil

Srinagar to Kargil (via Zoji La)

Distance / Time: ~200 km | 7–8 hours
Highlights: Driving through lush Sonamarg, crossing the thrilling Zoji La Pass (3,528 m), and visiting the historic Drass War Memorial.
Night Stay: Drass

Day 2

Kashmir - Leh via Zanskar

Rangdum

Drass to Rangdum ;

Distance: 125 kms, 4-5 hrs

Highlights : The journey from Drass to Rangdum offers stunning views of high-altitude landscapes, of Kargil and Suru valleys and the view of Nun Kun Glacier.

You can also visit Rangdum monastery

Overnight : Rangdum

Day 3

Kashmir - Leh via Zanskar

Padum

Rangdum - Padum via Pensi la ( 4400 mts)

Distance: 90 kms, 4-5 hrs.

Highlights: Cross the high Pensi La Pass (4,400 m) next to the massive Drang Drung Glacier.

Overnight: Padum.

Day 4

Kashmir - Leh via Zanskar

Phuktal

Padum - Purne (Buffer / Sightseeing Day)

Highlights: Visit the Phuktal Monastery (requires a short trek),you can also pay a visit to Barden monastery.
Night Stay: Purne.

**The Traditional Hike: Starting straight from the village of Purne, the path is about 6 to 7 km. Walking alongside the beautiful, turquoise Tsarap River takes most travelers 2 to 3 hours to reach the cliffside monastery

**The Shorter "Roadhead" Option: If you are traveling by vehicle, a rough dirt road now extends past Purne. If the road conditions allow your vehicle to reach the end of this stretch, you can park closer to the Phuktal bridge. From that point, the remaining walk is a shorter 4 kilometres and takes only 1.5 to 2 hours
