Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and rest
  •  Upon  arrival, our wildyak representative  will transfer you from the airport to your hotel in Leh.
  • Once you check-in, the first day is highly recommended for acclimatization. Perhaps an evening stroll around the main market, enjoy traditional cuisines and explore our rich culture around antique shops, that showcases some exquisite collections of tibetan art.
  • Bike will be dropped at your hotel or you can pick up the bike from the offie itself. In evening, return to hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
  • Tip: At the height of 10,000 ft., oxygen level is dropped and carelessness can lead to AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness). It is strictly advisable to rest and stay hydrated in order to acclimatize yourself.

Day 2 : Leh Enroute Khardungla pass to Nubra Valley (120km approx. l 5-6 hrs. Journey)
  • After breakfast, we head towards the mighty Khardung La – one of the highest motorable Pass in the world at the height of 5602 M / 18,380 ft.
  • We move  via Diskit to reach the white sands of Hunder.
  •  Rides on Double Humped Bactrian Camels are available.
  • Pay a visit at the Diskit monastery, which is believed to be the largest and oldest monastery in Nubra valley, and enjoy the sunset.
  • Dinner and overnight stay in Nubra.

Day 3 : Excursion to Turtuk village (100km approx. l 3hrs approx.)
  • After sightseeing at Nubra, we drive towards Turtuk and spend the night at hotel.
  •  Turtuk a small hamlet was under Pakistan's control until 1971, after which India gained control of this strategic area. It is predominantly a Muslim village, and residents speak languages including Balti, Ladakhi and Urdu.
  • Turtuk is the last outpost in India after which the Pakistan-controlled Gilgit-Baltistan begins and is one of the gateways to the Siachen Glacier.
Day 4 : Nubra to Pangong Tso via Shyok / Warila - (170km approx. l 5-6 hrs approx.)
  • Post breakfast, we continue our journey towards Pangong Tso via Warila / Shyok village
  • This area flaunts a rich flora and fauna.You'll come across a lot of adorable Himalayan Marmots around the area.
  • On the way you'll come across nomadic settlements, called the Changpa nomads, it's rare to come across nomads in modern times, make sure you get a glimpse of their way of life. 
  • However, the main attraction of this circuit is the grand Pangong Tso, which you would reach by early evening.The Pangong lake known for its mersmerizing beauty, with hues of turquoise melting into an emerald green, take a few moments to appreciate this wonder of nature.
  • Dinner and overnight stay at camp.
  • Cottage - Pangong woods, Skylake cottage or similar.
    Day 5 : Pangong Tso to Hanle (170km approx. 6 hrs approx.)
  • After breakfast check out from cottage and drive to Hanle, by crossing Chushul Village, Tsaga La (15,200 Ft) enjoy the drive upto Hanle : home to the Indian Astronomical Observatory.observatory.
  • This observatory is operated by the Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Bengaluru and  is currently the second highest optical observatory in the world, with an installed telescope of about 2.01 meters (6.5 feet) diameter.
  •  After breakfast check out from hotel and drive to Hanle, by crossing Chushul Village, Tsaga La (15,200 Ft).
  • In Chushul we'll visit the Rizang La war memorial.
  • En route we'll pay a visit at Hanle Monastery built in the 17th century. Hanley village is home to a mere 1000 people
  • Due to its remote location only local guest house and homestays are available for accomodation. Get a glimpse into the life of these local residents.
  • Overnight stay at Hanle.
     Day 6 : Hanle to Umling La and back to Hanle (180km/ 6-7 hrs approx)

 

  • Today you will ride on the highest motorable road in the world
  • Umling La Pass, located at an altitude of 19,300ft, has overtaken Khardung La Pass to become the highest motorable road in the world.
  • Umling La Pass, stretching to a distance of almost 86km, connects Chisumle and Demchok villages.
  • Both these villages lie in close proximity to the Indo-China border in the eastern sector.
  • We drive back to Hanle for the night.
    Day 7 : Hanle to Leh via Chumathang (250km/7-8 hrs approx)
  • On the way you can explore Chumathang hot spring, this hot spring is believed to have medicinal properties and people come here to heal problems related to arthritis.
  • We hault at Upshi village for lunch.
  • We drive back to Leh, en route visit Thiksay Monastery and Rancho School
  • Overnight stay at Leh.
    Day 8 : Departure 
  • Early morning departure
