This  trip takes you from the lush valleys of Manali through the dramatic high-altitude landscapes of Ladakh and concludes in the scenic city of Srinagar. Beginning with a gradual ascent via Jispa to aid acclimatization, the journey follows the iconic Manali–Leh Highway, crossing some of the world's highest mountain passes and offering breathtaking views of alpine lakes, rugged mountains, and vast Himalayan plains.The itinerary includes time to explore Leh's cultural landmarks, the sand dunes of Nubra Valley, the crystal-clear waters of Pangong Lake, and the historic monasteries scattered across LadakhThe return journey follows the Leh–Srinagar Highway, passing through Kargil, Drass, and the picturesque meadows of Sonamarg before ending with a relaxing stay in Srinagar.

Itinerary

 

Day 1 – Manali → Jispa

 

Distance 135–140 km
Estimated riding time 5–6 hours

Arrival and check-in, followed by an evening ice breaker session.

Stay: Jispa, restwell for the journey ahead.

**Why stop at Jispa?

Jispa sits at 3,200 m, making it an ideal first-night halt before the higher-altitude ride to Leh. Spending the night here helps your body adjust before tackling passes above 4,800–5,300 m on the next day's route, reducing the risk of altitude sickness compared with riding directly from Manali to Sarchu.

Tip: Start early to avoid traffic.

 

Day 2 – Jispa → Leh

Distance 330–340 km 
Estimated riding time 10–12 hours

This would be a taxing ride.

Day 3 – Leh (Acclimatization)

Ride very little.

Day 4 – Leh → Nubra Valley via Khardung La

(Distance: 130 kms. / Ride Duration: 5 hrs. / Altitude of Nubra: 3048 mts.)

Leh → Khardung La → Diskit → Hunder

Day 5 – Hunder → Turtuk→ Nubra

(Distance: 90 kms. / Riding Time: 3 hrs. / Altitude of Turtuk: 3048 mts.)

  • Traditional Balti stone houses

Unlike Pangong or Nubra's dunes, Turtuk offers a glimpse into Balti culture and village life. It remained under Pakistani administration until the 1971 war, making it one of India's northernmost inhabited villages accessible to visitors.​

Day 6– Nubra → Pangong Lake

(Distance: 180 kms. / Riding Duration: 8 hrs. / Altitude of Pangong: 4250 mts.)

Nubra → Shyok → Durbuk → Tangtse → Pangong

Stay at a Camp near Pangong Lake

**Watch sunrise or sunset if weather permits.

 

Day 7 – Pangong → Leh

(Distance: 160 kms. / Ride Duration: 6 hrs. / Altitude of Leh: 3524 mts.)

Relax in the evening and prepare for the next day's ride.

 

Day 8 – Leh → Kargil

(Distance: 220 kms. / Ride Duration: 6-7 hrs. / Altitude of Kargil: 2676 mts.)
